Our Junior Section
Our golf club has a long tradition of nurturing and encouraging young golfers as they progress on their golfing journey. Golf is one of the few sports that can be played for a lifetime and the younger you start the better. Golf not only teaches young people a sport, it teaches them discipline and ethical standards that last for a lifetime. Golf is also proven to positively assist in combating mental health issues. All these many benefits on offer whilst they enjoy themselves learning a new sport and hobby and meeting new friends!
We encourage young people to participate by offering free Junior Membership to under 10's and significantly reduced rates for all our juniors until they reach adult golf at 19 years of age. Our practice facilities, particularly our Golf Academy building are extensive and offer the best opportunities in teaching technology. Our PGA Professional, Paul McEvoy has years of experience in coaching young people and its guaranteed that everyone will enjoy themselves, whilst learning to play a great game.
We are so fortunate at our club to have some really committed people to run our Junior Section:

Our Junior Captain and Junior Ambassador is Fred Hunt. Fred is 16 years old and has played golf since he was four years of age. He is a committed junior member and thoroughly enjoys his golf at Burnley Golf Club.

Our Junior Academy
We have a sizeable Junior Section across our Elite facilities with specially designed learning programmes run by our experienced professionals. Our Junior Academy Programme offers an innovative, exciting and fun approach to Junior Golf Coaching. The academy offers a systematic golf coaching programme to children between the ages of 4 – 18.
No matter the age or experience of your child we are able to offer a comprehensive Junior Academy Programme which is tailored for them. We have built our programme around the key concepts of why children play sport and most importantly, stay in sport.
Creating the right environment is so important with our aim to create an environment which is conducive to fun, learning and friendship. Allowing your children to learn at their own pace through a programme of self-discovery and game based learning, whether on course or the driving range.
The academy is headed by Elite coach Craig Gornall who is recognised as an Advanced PGA coach with over 10 years of experience with coaching juniors. The academies other Elite coach is Paul McEvoy who has over 25 years experience and is currently coaching the ELGA Lancashire Girls Squad .

Girls Golf Rocks at Glen View...
In 2021 we were so fortunate to have our application accepted to become a 'Girls Golf Rocks' club.
Our PGA Professional, Paul McEvoy, has proven himself to be an excellent teacher and the girls have all absolutely loved all their training sessions. Paul has the ability and experience to make golf a fun thing to do and all the girls are absolutely 'buzzing' as they enjoy themselves at our great club.
Paul has continued the lessons free of charge throughout the winter months and in April 2024 he begins the coaching sessions with all our junior golfers.
We recognise that young people are the future of our club and do all we can to ensure they are safe, made most welcome and importantly thoroughly enjoy themselves as they embark on their golf journey.
